Today´s topic is one my own curiosities…
How so? It´s all about ink on your skin.
Tattoos. No further than that.
Please, tell me what you think and about yours!
Let me start with myself. I would love to share this part of myself with you.
I have four tattoos so far, all very personal, meaning with a deep meaning behind them. And I am thinking of getting more when I have a clearer idea in my mind. I have selected all four of them at precise times and the precise image. I am in love with all of them and happy to carry them.
The first one is a fairy, they have always been a big part of my world…Ever since I can remember it has been more about fairies than princesses and it has continue all the way to my current age. Even my high school nickname that some people still call me is ¨AriFairy¨. It rhymes, makes sense and easy to cheer in a field hockey, cheerleading, gymnastics game. It was a winner from the start.
After that I have cat paws that are shaped into hearts. Yup, I am huge cat lover. I have foster tons and can identify with the feline character a lot more.
Moving on, heart-shaped cliff note of some sort. Music. Music everywhere, every time. It moves my soul and eases my mind.
Lastly, dreamcatcher. This tattoo is very special. I did it the same day as my sister´s on her first trip to come and see me. She has one that reminds her of me and I one that reminds me of her. We have three things in common, two numbers and Always Believe. This sentence is me, these two words are me, I have been saying and expressing myself through them forever by now. The sentence for our tattoo was my sister´s idea and when she told me it had meant to her all these years, it was an instant yes.
This is just a glance, there is plenty more I can say about them. All in all, I am proud of them and happy that they form part of my skin. It is part of who I am and how I choose to express myself.
Following to my second point is the history behind tattoos.
There are so many types of tattoos:
– Amateur and professional
In so many places with different culture and meaning between them, like:
– Egypt and India
– New Zealand
From Wikipedia: Tattooing has been practiced for centuries in many cultures and spread throughout the world. The Ainu, an indigenous people of Japan, traditionally had facial tattoos, as did the Austroasians. Today, one can find Atayal, Seediq, Truku, and Saisiyat of Taiwan, Berbers ofTamazgha (North Africa), Yoruba, Fulani and Hausa people of Nigeria, and Māori of New Zealand with facial tattoos.
There are many many kinds of opinions on tattoos. Of course, we are humans. It is fascinating to me all the sorts of tattoos people have. I want to know more about this! And when I see one I like, I ask the idea behind it. If you know me by now and I am pretty sure you do, I stick with the positive. Even though, I have heard negative about them and mine, I want to know your feedback on them.
Your realistic point of view.
Dear followers of mine, please share with me what you think about tattoos, as an artist, as a business person, as a mother, as a teenager…. And let me know if you have any too! Or anyone you know! I will be delighted to know the responses!
Thank you ever so kindly, thanks for sharing this with me.
Keep rocking and being you!
