Creating spiritual rituals

Dear Team Flyer,

Regardless where you faith lies and who you praise, creating your own spiritual rituals will help you reach your goals. However you want to do it, it needs to resonate in you. Gather your thoughts, make a list of intentions and say them out loud like you’ve already got them.

For those who haven’t tried anything of the sort before or even if you are looking for new ideas, here is a list of creating your spiritual ritual:

I am a writer. Duh. That is one of the main reasons you are here, because I write all the time. So, one of the main things I do is write down my intentions. Every morning I get my binder and write my intentions of the day and much like stated above, I write them like I already have them. For example: I am going to the Caribbean for my honeymoon. I have the body of my dreams: lean, fit and healthy.

You can be as specific as you like. We encourage it. It is fundamental you see your vision, no matter big or small, you need to live it and feel it. The list can be a mile long, it’s okay! You can everything your heart desires. We will also work through focusing on your goals in future posts. Click here if you are interested.

Writing these intentions help them turn into manifestations. And not only that, seeing them on paper, having that reminder, it becomes more real than before. This activity is usually done first thing in the morning, with meditating and deep affirmations, as if they were already true. It also needs to be adjusted to the time one is currently at. Some of those intentions have already come true or maybe I’ve wished to re-word them differently. They need to be written every single day.

If there is something weighing you down, someone that doesn’t irk you the right way, it is time to let go. In order for new things to come into your life, you need to have space for them. And that only works when you let go. Either physically or emotionally or both! This spiritual ritual also works written down.

Through the various stages in my life where I felt lost, abused or just out of sorts; I would write everything out on a piece of paper, names and all. Everything that I was feeling and going through. Sometimes I would have my hopes and intentions on one piece of paper and on another the list of people or subject that have upset me. After that, I tore them up into a million pieces, burn them and talked to my inner goddess. (insert whoever you want here, you are free to talk to whomever.) I asked her from blessings and just took deep breathes. This part is a totally D-I-Y ritual. No need to rehearse, just speak from your heart.

You need to be the most relaxed version of yourself. Cleanse yourself from extra thoughts, meditate, take deep breathes, sip tea, light candles, arrange your crystal, take a bath… whatever it is you do to center yourself, this is the time to do it. When creating your own ritual and lining up your intentions, being one with oneself is a huge part of it. This comes in many ways and it is personable. Be sure to include this in the creating process and to be fully honest, this can just be it. You don’t need to go any further than just relaxing yourself and be open to new changes.

It is always useful and needed to have positive reinforcement. This is called a mantra. A sentence or two that you can repeat time and time again, that you can focus on and know that is the start of setting your intentions. In order to create this kind of spiritual ritual, the best you can do is write it down.

Mantra Examples:

I know myself. I trust myself. I know what is right for me.

I accept these things or something better for highest good and all those concerned.

I know which way I need to travel. I know what I need to do.

I accept all these things and welcome them into my life with open arms.

I am true to myself. I am powerful. I am strong. I have full control of myself.

I am attracting all the love I dream of and deserve.

I am the sky. Everything else is just the weather.

I am grateful for all that is unfolding in my life and what is yet to come.

Journal these intentions and desires. Under the mantra you use, the one you create, the one you make your own, be sure to write down your intentions and track them.

Your vision board is hanging on your wall all year long. It should be constantly changing and evolving as your dreams and desires do the same. This is a visual simulator and part of your journey to create your own spiritual ritual.

Another fun addition is a scrapbook. Not one filled with memories, yet one filled with intentions and visions. It is also a great way to keep track of new achievements and process. Because the idea behind this spiritual ritual is to re-new every day, you can clearly see the changes. And because it is a tool we use to create visions, you can add to it throughout the day. Whether it is a quote, a picture or anything you stumble on.
